Dry Cupping
Plastic cups are used to create suction on the skin to pull the blood to the surface, which is intended to increase the body's natural healing response. Cupping can also reduce tension on the skin and tissues, and help loosen adhesion's and tight muscles. The cups can be used to treat pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and inflammation. Dry cupping does not burn or pierce the skin so is a safe addition to add to your practice.
Gua Sha
Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to improve circulation and promote healing. The word "gua sha" comes from the Chinese words gua, meaning "scrape", and sha, meaning "sand".
Gua sha is believed to break up stagnant energy, or chi, which may be responsible for inflammation. The scraping action increases blood flow, stimulates the lymphatic system, and can help reduce inflammation.
Gua sha can help with a variety of health conditions, including muscle pain, tension headaches, migraines, neck pain, swelling, anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, and perimenopausal symptoms.
Sports nutrition is the study of how to use nutrition to improve athletic performance. It involves a variety of topics, including:
Diet
A well-planned diet should include enough protein to repair and grow muscles, as well as unrefined carbohydrates like whole grains. Athletes should also eat a variety of fruits and vegetables to get micro-nutrients like vitamins and minerals.
Hydration
Athletes should drink enough fluids to avoid dehydration, especially during intense exercise or in hot conditions.
Supplements
Dietary supplements can help athletes meet their nutritional needs and improve performance.
Psychological aspects
Sports nutrition can also include addressing eating disorders and other mental health issues related to nutrition.
Sports nutrition plans should be customized for each athlete, taking into account their goals, sport, food preferences, and other factors. This course will give you the basic tools for you to use to improve their performance.
